Sandy Vipond,
BSC Hons, MCSP, MHPC, OCPPP, Principle Practitioner and Director
Sandy Graduated from Manchester University in 1993 with a BSc Hons degree in Physiotherapy. Since then she has amassed a huge amount of post graduate education and experience in the the musculoskeletal field. She has worked as an extended scope practitioner in the NHS alongside Orthopaedic consultants administering joint and soft tissue injections and in addition to years of private sector work has been involved with sports clubs and individual sports people, treating both the amateur and the elite. Sandy specialises in the diagnosis and management of musculoskeletal conditions, Manual therapy, myofascial release, sports and functional specific rehabilitation and sports massage. She has a special interest in the screening of her patients to identify and eradicate underlying factors which would cause recurrence or further injury. To further her ability to rehabilitate, Sandy has trained in Clinical Pilates with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute and now incorporates these skills into her repertoire, instructing in both one to one and class based settings. Emma Hind,
MCSP, MSc, MHPC, MAACP, Senior Physiotherapist.Emma graduated from the University of Salford in 2006 with a BSc (Hons) in physiotherapy. Emma began working in the field of musculoskeletal physiotherapy and over the years has gained much experience working in private practice and with sports men and women. Due to her keen interest in sports injuries and rehabilitation, Emma completed an MSc in sports and exercise medicine in 2010 and gained enormously from the course. Emma is also a member of the acupuncture association of chartered physiotherapists and has experience in teaching clinical Pilates on a one to one basis and within a class setting. Emma is a keen horse rider and has a special interest in assessing and treating the postural problems and muscle imbalance issues that riders often encounter. Emma has been privileged to work with elite athletes across sports such as gymnastics, football and skiing and has found the experience gained whilst working with these individuals and teams has provided her with the knowledge and skills required to successfully treat sports people of all ages and abilities. Katie Appleyard,
BSc Hons, MCSP Senior Physiotherapist.Katie graduated with a BSc (Hons) from Leeds Metropolitan University in 2006 and subsequently worked in the NHS as a junior then senior physiotherapist where she developed a sound foundation of knowledge in many different disciplines. In addition, Katie worked for 4 years as a physiotherapist for the academy of a professional rugby club where she gained invaluable experience treating elite junior rugby players both on and off the pitch. She was also keenly involved with the screening of the players to help reduce the risk of potential injuries. With a personal interest in Pilates, Katie completed her Class Instructor Level training with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute. She likes to teach classes and incorporate Pilates into her treatment sessions. Gill France,
RGN, RMN, Clinical Reflexologist and Reiki Master PractitionerGill has advanced training in Clinical Reflexology and Creative Imagery and Relaxation at The Christie Hospital in Manchester. She is a registered member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists and The Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council. Gill uses traditional and Precision Reflexology techniques, alongside Adapted Reflextherapy, a concept of treatment developed by a Swedish physiotherapist, specifically to target spinal pain and whiplash. She has also had extensive training with Seren Natural Fertility in Reproflexology: The Pre-Conceptual Care Programme and The Assisted Conception Programme to support people with fertility issues. Gill is also a Reiki Master Practitioner and works as a Complementary Therapist with Macmillan. Emma Venables,
BSc Hons, VTCT, SMA, Sports Massage Therapist.Emma Venables graduated from Liverpool John Moores University in 2011 with BSc Hons in Sports Science. Emma then went on to qualify in Level 4 Sports Massage in September 2011 where she has since continued to work as a sports massage therapist in private practices. Here she has worked with sports clubs and sporting individuals treating both elite and amateur athletes. Alongside this Emma is a practitioner in Kinesiology taping allowing her to use specific taping methods for prevention, maintenance, injuries, swelling and to treat pain. She has a great interest in the biomechanics of the body which since graduating she has had her final piece of work accepted to be published in the 'Journal of Biomechanics'. With Emma's personal experiences of injuries she has a great passion to help prevent injuries, whilst understanding the importance of rehabilitation and the general maintenance of the body. Emma is also a registered member of the Sports Massage Association, the UK's governing body. |
